Organic safflower oil from the safflower (distaff thistle) is characterised by its high content of poly-unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins A, E and K. Safflower oil’s full but mild flavour unfolds after a few seconds. It is suitable for light foods/diets and raw and/or uncooked food, ideal for cooked or steamed vegetables and also in salads. Due to the fact that it is not heat-tolerant, it must not be used for frying.
Safflower oil has regeneration properties and is used in skin-care formulations and as massage oil. High-quality safflower oil can also be found in many medications.
Best quality pure, organic safflower oil. The hulled seeds of the safflower are cold-pressed in our family-run company. The region has the ideal climate for safflower to thrive in and the cold-pressed safflower oil has a particularly mild aroma and is ideal in salads, for light foods/diets and raw and/or uncooked food.
Tip: the fine oil is often used as massage oil and in skin-care formulations.
The safflower is a low-maintenance plant and grows extremely quickly. The Romans used the natural dye extracted from the safflower to dye their clothes and in Asia it was known for its seeds from which the oil was made. Here in Austria the safflower is becoming more and more popular and will probably not be regarded as a mere niche product for much longer.
