Description

Linseed oil is extracted from the seed of the common flax (flax). It is becoming increasingly popular and is often referred to as “liquid gold”.
Our virgin organic linseed oil is crude and pressed without heating, and is neither filtered nor refined. Thanks to the gentle processing procedure, all the valuable ingredients are preserved in our high-quality linseed oil. There is no need to fear a bitter, pungent or sharp flavour – our freshly cold-pressed organic linseed oil tastes the way it should do as a result of long-term experience in the production procedure and the use of the very best Austrian linseed.
Grandma’s tip: Use linseed oil to make dull windows sparkle like new. Pour some vegetable oil onto a cloth, apply it to the windows, leave for a short while and then rinse off well. Please note: there is a risk of spontaneous combustion of oil-soaked cloths! Please spread the cloth out to dry and keep it safe from fire.

History

The linseed plant originally came from Egypt, Eastern Turkey and Iran, but today it is no longer a rarity in Europe and can also be found growing in Austrian fields. Watch out for the beautiful blue colour of a field of linseed in flower (the flowering period is from June to August).
